Women and girls around the world play important roles in their communities, but their lives and work are often overlooked or unappreciated. Through this competition and exhibition PhotoForward challenged our photographers to share the amazing stories of women and girls from their families and communities through individual photographs and/or photo sets.

2016 EXHIBITION GALLERIESMore than 100 guests joined us at Sister Srey Cafe, in Siem Reap to celebrate women's stories and honor the remarkable Cambodian photographers whose photographs and insights are featured in this new exhibition.
It was a terrific evening filled with good food, great people, inspiring artwork, and lots of joy and laughter! We are deeply grateful to the whole Sister Srey team, our good friends at Journeys Within Our Community (JWOC), our generous supporters, and the ever-growing PhotoForward community for making this exhibition a huge success. |

We received almost 200 photographs from a diverse range of 23 Cambodian photographers-in-training, ages 14 to 37, who are excited to share new stories, practice their skills, and improve their work. |
